Wait a sec - you voted blue right? Seems like a missed opportunity with that mindset.

Come on now, just because you don't like the guy doesn't mean it's ok to use this kind of language.

This is spot on. They’re more stupid than I thought if they dismiss this election as simply validating that America’s not ready for a black woman president (or hell, even a woman one). But it’s what they’ll do.

So far I'm not hearing that. I am hearing the blame go to Biden for even running again or not stepping down in time to hold a proper primary so someone could have a proper campaign. Which is valid for sure. But also I think she didn't distance herself enough from Biden either. Hopefully Dems can find someone in the next 4 years to really emphasize the fuck ups that happen in that time. If he does end up doing mass deportations as well as pushing for the handing parts of Ukraine over to Russia, some of those minority votes, especially latino, that he gained this election could swing back to blue.

Yeah, and the "we are not going back" slogan doesn't work when people preferred the economy and "world peace" under Trump, who all seem to confuse correlation for causation.

I think that there's a lot at play, none of which I'm convinced the Democrats care to admit because either (1) it's antithetical to what they believe America needs (read: not wants, but needs), and (2) they don't know how to confront it head on lest they offend .001% of their demographic at any given time. They can't just be the anti-Republican party, which is essentially how Biden's handlers thought he could win, at which point it was pretty much too late for any candidate to successfully replace him on the ticket.

Also, a lot of this goes back to how the Democrats view things. The DNC knows better than the electorate. You see this is the reactions of a lot of people today, saying how they had more faith in the voters and how disappointed in them they are this morning. This is a pretty naive blame game, and it's a refusal to do any meaningful soul searching as to how they can drive 55% of the electorate that have an unfavorable opinion of the opponent to either doubt for whom they're voting or vote for that person, or how a significant percentage of the latino vote goes to the candidate that is openly hostile to them, or how their hand-picked candidate somehow lost double-digit percentages in states like California or stronghold urban centers like New York.

Playing right into this last point, the fact that the DNC and the party elite keeps shoving candidates down our throats without either primarying them or giving voters more of a say is astounding. It's the same people that thought that, after beating Trump the last time, it would be a good idea to put Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer back in power. It's a embarrassment of arrogance, and it shows that it's less about a vote and more about a coronation.

Democrats want to govern, while Republicans want to win. And it doesn't look like it will change anytime soon.

Kamala ran the worst campaign in American history and somehow managed to sound even dumber than Trump. She didn't lose because of sexism or racism. But that's the only way most liberals can think about things. That shit don't work no more.

one of the best campaign ads i saw this election cycle was one that ran in the last two weeks (especially in swing states). it was about how kamala is more concerned with things like having men who have had gender-altering surgery compete in women's sports. it ended with: "she's looking out for they/them. he's looking out for you." disgusting and transphobic? you bet. but effective? no doubt.

kamala had absolutely zero message or response. to be sure, it didn't lose her the election. but it was a good example of the things that the Democrats aren't in a position or prepared to address. so they dismiss it as identity politics that don't move the needle.

If the democrats ran someone as vile and loathsome as Trump but with their own left-minded positions, would they win? (And I’m not sure how they could even do that.)

Honestly I think dems will be in pretty good shape in 4 years. Biden will be dead, Pelosi and Schumer almost certainly will, and there might be an opportunity for a revitalized dem party that maybe goes back to being pro-union or something.

But they gotta drop all that woke shit. And I don't know if they can. The mindworm has dug deep.

i thought that ad was terrible the moment i saw it. it also sounds sexist, or is being transphobic completely different?

He simply removed the censor's hand from the scale and allowed reality to become visible. Whether you choose to look at it is not in his power.
