Honestly, I didn't hate it, but it didn't pique my interest enough to move to the next installment.

Just wanted to see where it went. I loved the hypnosis/corpo-military angle. It's a slow burn series but I'm really glad I read them all.

Cheers! This is my first crack at Delillo, and I kept reading that White Noise was the one to start with, so I did.

I'm really enjoying it so far, and I think it'll be one I'll want to reread.

Geez, I just looked at a list, and I can't remember some of the recent stuff, and the older stuff is long since faded to a blur in my mind.

Let's say .... Somewhere in the Lullaby or Diary level of quality? Remember how you felt reading the story in Haunted about the kid sitting on the pool drain? There's a scene in this book that 'll give you that feeling back.

So mid-tier Palahnuik. I can dig it.

Sort of outside what I was expecting, but I liked it a lot, and it felt like a really quick read.

Well when you put it that way...

But really, there were a lot of winners in that sale. Growth is not a zero sum game with one winner take all result, which is the whole theme of the book. Whole Foods increased their buying power and in doing so was able to support more regional and local suppliers than before the sale. Prime has forced competitors to offer similar services, helping consumers afford all of this "basic stuff." Whole Foods is still a pretty great place to work, though there are growing pains. I would also be surprised to learn that Mackey is doing anything nefarious with the payday he got.

I read this book years ago when a restaurant owner I worked for bought a copy for the whole management team. It planted some seeds back then but it's really singing to me now.
