The Endless
«As kids, they escaped a UFO death cult. Now, two adult brothers seek answers after an old videotape surfaces and brings them back to where they began.»
Very low key indie-looking start, but let’s see where it goes. Just ten minutes in so far.

This is a really odd story, but must say they have done well on a small budget for this movie.

It Comes At Night. Nothing came at night, but Joel Edgerton was good, in a rather slow movie. Very bleak.
Brad’s Status. Watching this now. Middle aged dude thinking about life. Saw someone describe it negatively as «first world problems», but think it might be relevant to my life at least. Mid level/ok start so far.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Surprisingly after how dull 2 was, I kinda loved it.
- Spoiler: show
- The little 4th wall break at the end with Groot was awesome and I’d like to think they set that up all along

Plan on watching a few 2017 movies today, starting with Dunkirk. Beautifully made, the story was a bit uneven for me the first time. Hope I’ll love it this time. Great start so far.

I did see something in Dunkirk that I did not see back in 2018. I wanted something else, but the movie delivers in a different way. It is tense throughout, and looks marvelllous. Makes you think about how it must have been to live through it.

Get Out
In the competition for the best movie of 2017 when it saw it years ago. Only seen it once. Let’s see how it holds up.

Excellent movie. Jordan Peele has done brilliantly here, and excellent choice with Daniel Kaluuya as the lead actor.

Did finally see Thor: Ragnarok again, and will finish a second viewing of Lady Bird tomorrow.
Still felt Ragnarok was fine, but a bit silly.
Great start to Lady Bird, but need sleep now.

I’m intrigued solely because of Ayo

I'm firing up a movie called Downhill Racer (1969)
I've never heard of it, but it's Gene Hackman and Robert Redford, so fuck it - it's gotta be good

I get up for movies like this (I’ve also never heard of it). Then I remember that if it was any good I probably would’ve heard about it hundreds of times by now and it usually plays out that way. Good luck though, let us know.

Come on, great movies go unnoticed or underappreciated all the time for myriad reasons

They do not.
