tragabigzanda wrote:also I fully buy the idea that DM is an awesome matter if you're a lifelong corporate rock guy who's hitting the gym every day. That's not meant as a slant, just that it probably hits Pinfield right in his sweet spot right now and that's fine, even if I think it's insane.
So now being healthy and go to the gym every day is corporate?

Damn this is worst than in the 90s

I’ll listen only to that Bush album Albini produced then.
ha, not at all. I've followed Pinfield for a while. He and Carson Daly were both legit college radio guys, but they became major label dudes during TRL.

I love that he goes to the gym. It's a big part of his sobriety. I think Pinfield is probably an AWESOME guy. I just think he's more oriented towards verse/chorse/verse stuff is all I'm saying. That wasn't meant to be even remotely critical, was genuinely saying I could see how this album could be something you'd love if you're generally into the sound of heavily-compressed popular rock music, and you want something high energy to get you amped at the gym.

I get no respect!

It's hard not to see the phrase corporate rock as at least a partial dig (what a super 90s phrase). It does have a different implication then the description you added here.

4. Trag totally fine. Not complaining, not throwing a fit, not PMing the mods. We're just internetting here, guys. I'd buy each one of you a beer in real life and laugh about it all.
I've tried to validate both of you, suggested how I try to cope with strong differences of opinion, admitted to my own mistakes in how I have interacted with you, and suggested RockPusher make friends with me on another platform to squee about new Pearl Jam

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME, HUH? HUH? /joke

Have you had breakfast with your family yet?
made some dope egg sandwiches for my brood
I don't think it's technically a Toad in the hole (though that's what it was introduced to me as), but frying a piece of bread, cutting out a hole in the center, and flash frying an egg in it (leaving the yolk intact) is an amazing and quick breakfast. I used to make this all the time until I started my weight loss/maintenance routines.

I've made those for years and have also known them as toad in the hole.

toad in the hole is sausages baked into Yorkshire pudding, so the principle is similar

Ha. I don't know, but I thought it was relevant to what was being discussed here. He does like a lot of recent music and yet stands by his statement about Dark Matter being the best album in a decade. That's high praise, but recency bias can affect the best of us. I'm trying to keep a balance between optimism and realism as far as my expectations of the new album are concerned.
