I don’t think so, it is heavily suggested that they will take the law into their own hands, and kill the man they suspected, even if he was cleared of the murder of Frances daughter. Much more interesting than if he was only mean, and there was another kind and sensible cop that helped work on the murder.

The protagonists. Which is not the same as calling them "the good guys" or whether they're justified, as you know. But more importantly it's a systemic critique, and a very clear-headed one IMO

Yeah a lot of it was intriguing enough, including Woody Harrelson's character/performance
