I'm considering watching Magic (1978) tonight. I'm not sure if I'm ready to start watching Halloween movies yet, though.

The Florida Project is very good. A real window into life for the people in the movie, which are fairly poor Americans in Florida, including kids that often don’t look like acting, they are just naturally being kids.

Will probably start on 2018 now, although there are other things we could watch, or other ways to watch it. I've enjoyed going one year after the other though.

The first four movies I watched in the cinema in 2018, were The 12th Man and a second viewing of The Last Jedi. Both in January of 2018, and both 2017-movies. Then I watched Black Panther in February, and Ready Player One in April. Haven't found any other 2018 releases that I had watched earlier than that, on tv or cinema, and Ready Player One was the movie on the second date with my now wife, and the first movie we watched together. Now thinking of starting the year the same way, having already recently seen The 12th Man and The Last Jedi, I'm now thinking we will watch Black Panther and Ready Player One together, to start 2018.

Then I have 2018 movies from 2018, 1200 of which are semi rewatches (movies I've seen but can barely remember). Then in 2019 I'm only watching 3 movies -- The Report, Marriage Story, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, all starring Adam Driver. Two of those I've seen. Then 49 movies from 2020, only one of which I've seen. Then for 2021, I plan to watch every movie ever made that has a character named "Steve" in it, regardless of genre or language. I estimate this will take me about 15 years, but it's worth it for the dedication to the Steves of cinema. Then

If that was factual, it would be interesting. But as a rib, it's meh. Been done before.

I have 306 movies lined up from 2018 and 2019, and I have not seen 196 of those before. Add in a few netflix movies I haven't seen that are not on the list, and a few rewatches I won't do this time around (previous watch too recent), it probably evens out at around 100 rewatches and 200 new movies. 103 days left in the year. Let's see how far we get.

Magic was a good watch. Hopkins was great. I was surprised to see that it was directed by Richard Attenborough, I didn't know that he directed movies. He did well.

He has actually directed some of the most famous movies of all time (A Bridge Too Far, Gandhi, Chaplin).

Interesting. I had no idea. I'm adding Gandhi to my watch list. How is A bridge too far? The cast is insane, but the reviews are kind of middling.

I saw it as a teemager, and thought it was rather boring (certainly no Platoon).

Rewatched it a few years ago and had a very different reaction. It doesn’t really have a main character, but presents the historical events it covers in great detail, with a brilliant cast. Well worth seeing.

Enjoyed seeing Black Panther again. I understand people being tired of endless superhero movies, but this movie was really a breath of fresh air. Also released in arguably the peak couple of years for Marvel.

Watched Ready Player One with my wife. First time we saw it was our first movie date, and this was the second time. We both highly enjoy it. Lots of adventure, action, a creative world and story.
