I don't really put much stock into those early Twitter impressions anymore, but it is encouraging to have a sci-fi TV show to look forward to.

I trust Ash. If she liked it, then that's a pretty strong endorsement. My excitement has gone up a couple of degrees.

Im super excited about this show. I think its a great fucking format to tell stories. Rebels/clone wars were all great tv and to make that into live action? That is right up my alley.

I know Star Wars means something different to a lot of people. While I'm looking forward to the more long-form story telling of a TV series, I fear that this particular series is going to focus on some of the aspects of Star Wars that are less interesting to me. Maybe not. But that's what it looks like right now. That's the only reason I'm not as excited for this as other projects. But I'm still anxious to see it and I really want it to be great.

Expand on this, please.

You love Rebels. I feel like this show is going to expand greatly on that world as well.

Star Wars, to me, is all about the Force and the Jedi and the powers of light and dark. Rebels exploded open for me once Ahsoka showed up. I do think advancing the Dark Saber stuff was interesting but I can't imagine there's going to be much of that in this show -- at least not in the first season.

This show looks like it's way more about "the wild west" and bounty hunters and scoundrels and the Cantina scene. All of which is great color and flavor, but not what draws me into the world. If that makes sense.

However, I adore Rogue One and that isn't too heavy on Jedi or the Force or any of that. So, this certainly still has a real chance for me. I'm not discounting it. I will give it my full attention. But the lack of "lore" (for lack of a better word) has my expectations and excitement tempered a bit at the jump. Hopefully, I'm dead wrong, and it wins me over immediately.

I had you all wrong. I truly thought the force and jedi stuff was secondary for you.

Sorta where I am. Bounty hunters and the seedy underworld and all the mandalor shenanigans were never my thing. They’re my least favorite aspect of Rebels and clone wars.

That said. I love Favreau and everything he touches. And he seems giddy as fuck about this series. And he has filoni working with him on it.
So I’d say we’re onto a winner here.

Ps they’re already working on season two

Im all about jedi and lightsabers but Rogue One was so fucking good that i want more.

Also, there really isn't much jedi/lightsaber lore in the sequel trilogy. :(

I lovet R1 and Rebels so much. And for Rebels, it wasn't even about the Jedi in it, although I grew to like them all. I was more intrigued with the team, Hera, Sabine, Chopper, etc. and the people of the rebellion.

I would argue there is a ton of lore in the ST. The jedi/lightsaber stuff is subtle but exactly the kind of thing I like. The ST is really in my sweet spot. They've nailed the balance of everything exactly, for me.
