Your anti-TV stance is weird. You're missing out on a bunch of incredible stuff.

Idiot!

But like what if you said the same thing without insulting the poster?

TV is a terrible medium for drama and the people making it now think you have nothing better to do with your time. I have other things I could be doing than watching two hours of material stretched to ten for the sake of the content maw. I don’t watch stuff to kill time.

i don't agree with LV, but i think i understand what he's getting at. too many shows dragging shit out for too long.

LV, how do you feel about dramatic limited series? when done right, succinct enough, but can flesh out complex characters or stories a bit more than a movie.

One and the same to me. I do not subscribe to the idea that more time = more fleshed out characters/stories. Time has never been what accomplishes that - skilled filmmaking does. A good director can convey more in one image than some TV hack can in ten hours. It’s never been about time.

I do hate a bloated tv series. But done right a tv series can be as good as good movies. There are many examples out there, but take something like Band of Brothers, just perfectly done. Doubt this series will be that good, but it can be done.

Sure, I am not saying there aren’t ever good TV series, of course.

I used to be on the sided opposite what LV is saying, but lately I'm just so sick of the bloat and creating cliffhangers every episode for stupid reasons. It is almost like they are competing with "reality TV" to create drama to talk about on social media. It sucks. Even the shows I still watch and like are becoming mostly filler now. Team LV.

It’s all in the execution. There are plenty of bad movies as well, but there’s often more bloat in longer TV series—and even some in limited series.

Yeah, I think the frustrating thing with TV/Series is that a lot of them that end up bad had really good storylines, arcs, plots, whatever that would have made an awesome 2 hour movie. This may be naive of me, but a bad movie is a bad movie. A bad TV show sometimes could be a great movie.
