But, fr fr, the posters here are of a certain demographic profile that is struggling in America right now and I suspect most of us know someone who has been effected by suicide. AI companions like the ones from that tweet will be a big thing in the next decade ("Her"), simulated worlds pitched a solution to loneliness and the absence of community, and the lines between what is the core human need for real love and acceptance and what is artificially created for profit will be gone.

Facebook dumping "content moderation" (censorship) in favor of community notes is a great move, even though zuck is a psychopath likely doing it for the worst reasons. The pro-censorship crowd can die mad about it.

It is insane the amount of shit my parents and their friends the same age are starting to post and believe on facebook.
