Terrific episode, wonderfully directed and the actress playing Gemma is elite.

Parts of the episode reminded me of the final story in that Black Mirror Christmas episode.

The latest episode of SEVERANCE was the directorial debut of Jessica Lee Gagné, the show's cinematographer.

Is it possible this is the final season of the show? There was the slightest hint of finality in some of the comments on the official podcast during their segment with Gagne.

7 more seasons to come but don’t worry they have the whole thing “mapped out “

Everything will be explained !

To what end? I don't think I understand where you're going with this.
They’ve essentially shown severing as a way to avoid unpleasant things like going to the dentist and I think at one point someone in the real world said their wife gave birth while severed? I could see there being some element of testing if the worst possible things can be experienced by your severed self without bleeding into the memory of your actual self. Loss of a loved one is the most traumatic thing you can experience, so maybe that’s the ultimate test?
Ah, gotcha. That made sense. I'm not sure how that tracks with her being released afterward and all of that or how that changes all of humanity forever and whatnot. But I dig it.
Further, don't we already know that severing a trauma like death works because of Mark? That's the whole reason he got severed. And it worked. So there has to be something else to it, right?

Stiller told the NYT that they know the ending and they know how long the series will run. He did not, however, give that number. So... very possible.

My assumption is that Ricken just jumps from personality to personality, interest to interest, until he finds the one where he feels he has purpose. Hence why he’s so quick to jump at the opportunity to work for Lumon.

The probability of this being a two season series is very very low.

My genuine hope is three. I think the end of this season breaks the whole thing open. Then we get 10 hours to resolve it.

But I also love the show and never want it to end of it stays this sharp.

The production company's name is "Fifth Season," the answer is right there.

Ooo it looks like Toho owns 25% of Fifth Season, so there's some serious crossover potential.

Per the CJ ENM-owned company, “The name Fifth Season comes from Eastern medicine, which recognizes a fifth season, a celebratory time of harvest in late summer. The company’s new logo is a mosaic of glyphs, with each glyph embodying a unique quality or facet of the company’s ecosystem and its beliefs and ideals. The combination of these glyphs reflects how Fifth Season believes its value is made by the sum of its many creative relationships and partnerships and that its principles are a key part of its identity. The index of glyphs will continue to evolve with the company as it expands its partnerships, geographies, businesses and culture.”

I'm sure the five glyphs represent:

1. Woe
2. Frolic
3. Dread
4. Malice
5. Hey, screw you, Ensign, I was just making a joke

Malice doesn’t post here anymore
