I love the verses and the bands playing on this track. The chorus is good but its fucking cheesy. Doesnt fit the song. I dont like it. They should have zigged when they zagged on this part....
I think its too fucking cheesy and the
easy-standard chorus. It is too jarring and totally takes away from the song for me.
please, stop being a fucking nerd.
i feel like the chorus swings a little bit following the dirty blues feel of the verses, but i dont think its bad. its just different. and really, i dont think it was the "easy choice". its almost like 'marker', just maybe not as good.
side note: the 17 year old in me wants the chorus to be "wakin' and bakin'"
Its totally the easy choice. Its stone picking up the guitar, doing that dirty verse riff and naturally oing where it feels it should go. Thats all fine, i just dont like it. I think a little time spent would have yielded a much more interesting and more effective chorus.
I kinda like the song but it would be much better if they got angry whiskey-drunk and then recorded it. I hope it will be darker and dirtier live.

While I was humming the LTRP verse to myself during a walk I completely replaced the chorus in my head with something reminiscent of 'I Got a Feeling' ending in a high pitched half scream half long note, and it sounded good.

No. It is fine. It is like the chorus to get right. Not that it sounds similar, but it is

Surely it can't be that good.

To each their own. It's not good.

Yeah, the whole "LTRP's chorus is bad" thing is getting really boring.

I'd like to clarify that I think the whole song is awful. Just terrible and probably the worst track they've ever released.

Worse than Supersonic?

Well, this is something to look forward to.

the chorus sounds like jeepers creepers. just imagine "jeepers creepers.. where'd ya get those peepers? jeepers creepers... he lets the records play". it you like that then you're set.

Opinions are opinions. But wow. Worst song they ever recorded? I don't hear it as anything close to that. I'd take LTRP over a lot of their recorded material. It's something very different, not as far as general music is concerned but as far as PJ's music is concerned. The chorus is what makes the song better than it would be otherwise. Rather, the contrast between the chorus and verses. I really enjoy it and lyrically, it's one of the more interesting ones we've heard so far. In that the lyrics and music are kind of at odds with each other. The 'party at the end of the world and the guy not giving a damn' interpretation seems spot on for me.
Whoever mentioned Get Right, please. I can't listen to that song all the way through, like ever. Don't ruin LTRP for me

Though I get the comparison.

yeah. they recorded backspacer, guys. its fucking absurd to say any of these songs are worse than most of that record. talk about your classic hyperbole.

the thing i'm most disappointed in is the production. it's almost just as glossy as backspacer but with fatter guitar tones. a song like infallible may be ruined by this, as it sounds like it'd be right at home with some riot act production on AT.

I'm never one to care much for production like many on here, but LTRP at least sounded quite 'dirty' if that makes any sense. It wasn't the version we'll hear on the album though. I just like the damn song the way it is, is what I'm saying

That wasn't exactly where I was going with this because I really like Backspacer. But insert whatever album doesn't work for you in it's place.

I'm not sure which part is even the chorus. If I find out its the bit I thought was the bridge ill be bummed out cos I thought part was great.

It's this part:
"shaken
foresaken
what’s that you’re taking
the weeding
the feeling
he lets the records play"
I really like the melody. It's in contrast to the more stop-start verses. A whole song in either direction wouldn't have worked for me. They get it just right. And Ed's scream in the last "there's wisdom in his way-s" really seals the deal.

The bridge is this part:
"I’ve been down and I fell so hard and far from grace
I’ve been hurt and I still recall the flaws on her face"
Hell, I feel like listening again.

That's ok then. Cos it's a great bridge.
Not hearing the get right comparison other than some timing and reverse melody here and there.

do you not know what a chorus is, dime?
