it's really a shame about all that distortion
edit: i thought i was in the radiohead thread

Listening to off he goes on headphones the other day. Really landed for me. Beautiful playing and perfect production on that one.

For sure. Maybe Mike's best-ever guitar sound, this and "Around the Bend."

Around the Bend, Dead Man, and Happy When I'm Crying are the last surviving PJ songs on my carry list.

Hey McP, you should go opine in my awesome Production thread about your favorite "produced" PJ song. Let the positivity burst forth.

"Pearl Jam would refrain from releasing anything as strange and innovative as No Code ever again, just as Radiohead would draw back from the radicalism on their post-Kid A records."

If they are anything like the previous HDTracks releases, they will be brickwalled garbage. (In other words, completely worthless.)

For digital file copies, the mastered for iTunes versions of those are just fine. Significant improvements over the old cd masters, anyway.

I hadn't picked up No Code until about 2001-02, I was a PJ fan before that but just ten/vs stuff. Now I celebrate their entire catalogue. Anywho when I first listened to No Code I quickly dismissed it as their worst album to date however after repeated listens it really grew on me. Lately Ive been really into Around the Bend its such a beautiful/haunting song. I love it.
