What song would you most like to hear from this setlist?
That looks like a full setlist that has been folded in half, probably to hide the identity of the show name listed at the bottom. This could very well be the setlist for Hartford tomorrow night.

The rest just speak to the blend of musicianship and x-factor (see: Ed) that other bands just don't have.
I don't think it's a "Pearl Jam are rawk gods" thing at all. It's down to a type of songwriting. There are a lot of great songs out there (see: Zeppelin, My Generation, some Rolling Stones stuff) that are built more on the creation of a sound and the designing of events within that sound than in the traditional, "sit at a piano or edge of your bed" type songwriting. Lots of people cover Dylan or Neil and do a really good job of it, because they have these "edge of the bed" traditional songwriting methodologies. But not very many people cover Zeppelin, and far fewer cover them or the Stones well. Their songs are built too much on the tones, and the attitude, and the strut and all these ethereal qualities that are unique to them. The only ones that ever succeed at covering them are the ones that break the songs apart and find a whole new sonic canvas for them to exist within.

Also, as with those bands, Pearl Jam has some songs that are more closely tied to their personal core sound than others, and those are going to be the ones that are hardest to find a unique voice on. Which brings us back to: bad choice of song to cover.
I think you just said what I did but in classic TLDR McParadigm form.

Also, there's only two things I do on the "edge of the bed": make love and drink beer. Looks like we're almost out of beer.

I doubt they'd leak a setlist so far in advance. So many fans count on not having any idea...They put that up on facebook

I still stay it's gonna be Sirens 1st night...

Then either LB, Infallible or Getaway for 2nd night.

I would love to hear how Getaway sounds live, but I'm be happy with any of these 3.

Isn't that the setlist from Worcester 1?

edit: just saw Bluestate's post. It is.

What happens after you see another show?

I highly doubt that Fallon would just say "Hey guys, why don't you just take over my tv show for the whole hour? We'll just have live PJ for the entire show."

But if he did, he'd automatically become my favorite late night host :)

Hearing other people cover their songs is a great way to put just how good those songs are, or how excellent their interpretation of them, are.

ok, i'm late, but i'll share my opinion for some reason. terrible song choice. so many PJ songs could work for that type of vocalist, but not many on Ten, especially not Alive. solo was really good.

You people have lost your damn minds. Hearing Mike solo on top of that rhythm section is the highlight of my day. So the country singer didn't do it right? It was a hell of a fun thing to watch/hear. They are some custy bastards in here.

This is what, the 9th or 10th time Mike has played on late night television in 23 years?

Turned it off 5 seconds into the solo? :shake:

Great point. Best point made on this board in quite some time.

Seems like it's Sirens for tonight...hope Getaway gets in there, too, tomorrow. Are they just taping both songs today?
