The only thing that doesn't add up is the part about missing tapes for AYE. From my understanding it was remastered from the original mono mixes (on tape). I haven't read anything to indicate they are remastering from an actual vinyl source, back to tape, back to vinyl... that's ridiculous and probably just conjecture on some internet message board.
As far back as the 70's, they were using vinyl transfers for mono tracks that they didn't have stereo mixes of. The German Polydor AYE CD from 1986 was taken from vinyl. The UK "Red House" as released on the AYE remaster in 1996 was taken from vinyl. The mono "Can You See Me" as released on that box set not too long ago was taken from vinyl.

Do you see a pattern yet?

And besides that, the EQ shifts and complete lack of high end on the new LP indicate that the UK vinyl was used yet again.

Do you honestly think they are going to admit that? Using poor vinyl as a master source? You're talking about a company that has been releasing bottom of the barrel garbage and advertising it as "long lost hendrix classics". Get real.

Yeah, its got a nice 90's nostalgic sort of sound and was only 10 bucks.

I did it. It took me celebrating a new job, a 20% off coupon to J&R, and 40 minutes walking around the store determining whether it was just too much money for a single 30 minute record, but I bought the Into the Wild Soundtrack.

Damn thing is Crate & Barrel priced: you know, when something is cool and wanted but priced just at that level where you are guaranteed to get into a fight with your wife over whether it's worth the money. Yeah. That.

These are next on my list. The remainder of the Pearl Jam catalogue will one day be on my list if and when they reissue Binaural, Riot Act, and s/t on vinyl. The live albums too I guess.

As is the case with the Into the Wild Soundtrack...but $40 is just steep for a 30 minute record. Like you, I would order Uke Songs and the 7" together to maybe feel less battered by the insane shipping prices.

Are you some sort of vinyl-conspiracy theorist? I think you spend too much time over at the Steve Hoffman forum. Anyways, maybe someone should just call up Bernie Grundman and get to the bottom of this.

I just got my LBC 7" yesterday. Haven't even opened it yet.
You should definitely get ITW on vinyl. It's a must have IMO. Both the original and MOV pressings are great.

When Ukelele Songs came out, I got it pretty cheap at a record shop; don't remember exactly how much, but it was under $30. It came with all the stuff they were advertising as exclusive at the Ten Club shop--big lyric book, plus a book with the how-to ukelele stuff. I bought the MOV "Into the Wild" while there was a sale at Newbury Comics; it was Buy Two Get One Half Off (or maybe free? I really don't think it was for free) so I bought three pretty pricey records to get the best deal, I think. Actually, I probably got fleeced.

The new 10 Club single arrived today, as well as a cool Eels single!

I got the 10C single yesterday. Haven't played it yet, but it looks nice. haha.

Yeah, I am wanting the Uke Songs. $24.99 doesn't seem so bad, especially compared to the $40 everyone wanted for ITW.

RSD has yet to release its official list of releases yet (what's taking them so long???) but on every list of rumors/partial announcements, I've seen Mad Season listed. I don't remember where it was, but I'm pretty sure I read that it's going to get a limited release that day and then a wider release later on. I would hate if it's super-limited.

I bought a used copy of "The Wall" last week (from what I can tell it's from 1979, maybe the third pressing or so) and even though the cover is a bit beat up, I cleaned the dust off the records and it sounds great! Been waiting to get this for a while.
