I am super excited about this one. Episode 9's have been pretty dramatic thus far in this series

Re: HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)
I know there's a few major events coming; I just wonder which ones will be over the next two episodes and which will be saved for next season. But yeah, I'm thinking at least one will be this week.intodeep wrote:I am super excited about this one. Episode 9's have been pretty dramatic thus far in this series

Won't be watching this for another 8 or so hours. Good to hear that it's better than average, psyc.

them's my exact words as it was happening; however, it was the least bit surprising. i also thought the lack of music at the end didn't work.tommymctom wrote:jesus christ

the argus filch dude was a cunt when he was introduced a season or two ago. suddenly he's just the perfect host? suddenly game of thrones is going to spend a significant chunk of time on a wedding reception where everything goes off with only a hitch? i guess i thought for a moment they might let catelyn go, as it would have been a more dastardly thing to do, but her throat being slit didn't shock me after everything that happened before.
the lack of music? would have worked well for me if it was just a fade to black, but to watch a thousand names flash by rapidly just made it seem odd. the punk song after jamie lost his hand was a stroke of genius, but i thought these characters deserved some somber music.

i will add this, though - i loved the part where the hound was talking to arya about how much more nerve-racking it was the closer she got to the goal. it felt like he was talking directly to the audience at home, as all of us who haven't read the books must have been pulling for the reunion.

The only thing bad about the last scene was Michelle Fairleys exasperated yell. I can't believe that was the take they used.
