What did Noah do that was so terrible after game one? I didn't notice anything.

Truth.

And let's not pretend that Noah didn't act like a total douche toward the end of game one, with his celebration BS....and I was a fan of his at UF. He, and he rest of the team, got a rude awakening in game 2.

I originally predicted the Heat in 6, but it may only go 5.

I need to bring back my LeBron championship avatar!
Stop trying to jinx stuff.

And that lady is a horrible person who has no right to do that regardless of any over the top antics by Noah. He's an emotional basketball player (and drives me absolutely crazy), but that was uncalled for.

verb_to_trust wrote: Normally, you are pretty spot on 4/5, but this whole Bulls are more of a threat to the Heat without Rose thing I have heard from you a few times now makes no sense at all.
Well, one question I'd have with Rose coming back tonight would be why now? Is he legitimately more confident in his knee today than he was even two days ago?

Re: why I take the counter-intuitive position that the Bulls w/o Rose are a tougher matchup for Miami than the Bulls with Rose is based on a couple assumptions, which you certainly don't have to buy, but they are:

I wrote up a whole big thing and deleted it, but the bottom line is that I believe in LeBron's ability to shut Rose down in the 4th quarter. I think teams that aren't centered around 1 superstar are tougher matchups for Miami because there isn't a right guy to choose for LeBron to shut down. Like in the game that ended the streak he was guarding Heinrich in the 4th. I realize how stupid this might sound, but that's a waste of LeBron defensively. As in it doesn't give Miami a tremendous advantage that he can shut down Kirk Heinrich. And the Bulls offense isn't particularly hampered by having to run their offense through one of the other four guys on the floor. Whereas, if he's matched up on a Melo or Kobe or Rose and can play the tough d we're accustomed to seeing, it's a huge advantage for the Heat, and it's likely that the offense of the Knicks, Lakers, or Bulls, etc would be significantly impacted.

Now, of course if I was a Bulls fan I'd rather have Rose than not have him. That's not even a question. And as a Heat fan I'm (edit:) NOT going to be excited to see Rose if he suits up. (Especially in this specific scenario which is that the whole team is so broken they need any kind of injection of life they can get. So right now, today, this series specifically, as a Heat fan I'd rather Rose not come back)

And in all of that I should note that I don't think the Bulls with or without Rose have a good chance of beating the heat in a 7 game series. So it's not as if I think they're worse with Rose, I just think that the advantage Rose gives them against most teams is largely negated by LeBron's defense.

PPS--I'm nervous about tonight. I still think the Heat should win in 5, but after game 1 they definitely seem a lot more mortal and my confidence is nowhere near the same. And going on the road to Chicago is always tough. I figured the one loss would come on the road, and what if they do still lose one up there?

Gotta love the playoffs.

Back from the game. What a great atmosphere and a good game too until Lebron stepped up and made the plays at the end. The place went nuts when Naz shoved the King. With Kirk Hinrich I think the Bulls win the game. The perimeter defense from the Bulls point guards was terribad. The penetration killed them. As much as I love Nate, he can't play all those minutes and is a horrid defender (despite the Lebron block, which was awesome)

The Bulls need to find a way to get a game 6 at home, because I would like to go back one more time, I had a blast (basically, they need to take the game Monday or else)

Some people can do antics and it's funny while someone else can do the same thing and it falls flat. You tell a joke it's funny I tell the exact same joke and no one laughs. Noah's funny when he does that shit. Lebron does stuff and it comes off as show boating. Rodman grabbing the Mailman's balls was hilarious. Someone else does that and it's fucked up. Not fair maybe but that's life.

Plus...Wade DID do something similar to this and has done stuff like that for the last several years. Hell, he threw the ball at Marco in frustration in game 2 even. Luckily, no major medical events took place.

So the Bulls have basically stooped to putting a goon in for a couple of minutes and hoping to either intimidate or sucker LeBron into doing stupid. Nice. At least their fans enjoyed it. This series needs to get over fast for Miami. If they win game 4 I really hope that game 5 is a close game because if it isn't I'm a little nervous about what kind of stuff beyond what they're already doing the Bulls will try and pull.

And this series really isn't physical. It's the Bulls (and Wade on that first play of game 2 and Birdman on another play in game 2) melting down and doing nonbasketball stupidity.

Last night was a well played game, what are we complaining about? I have no idea what Naz was thinking with that foul on Lebron, but I can promise you he wasn't out there with some sort of hitman instruction from the bench. He acted stupidly and Lebron (who is what, 260 lbs?) flopped like a little rag doll after the push. It still warranted an ejection, don't get me wrong.....but this depleted team is not going out on the floor with instructions or intentions to get kicked out of a game. They don't have the bodies for that.

This is the playoffs. Thibs said it perfect after the game, they understand exactly what is going on and they are not going to get the calls. Two of the fouls called on Jimmy Butler were absolutely embarrassing. One against Marco also comes to mind. Meanwhile, the freight train that is Lebron James plays the entire game and finishes with 0 personal fouls. Its not the reason they lost either of the last two games but for Heat fans to whine about a few hard fouls and extra curriculars bothers me. The Heat, the defending world champions with the best player on the planet, are playing against a 3rd string squad and are surprised a completely out gunned team is trying to gain an advantage? The fact the Bulls have beat this team twice in recent weeks is actually pretty hilarious. I miss the 90's NBA when everyone wasn't so damn sensitive...I wonder how Lebron would fare against the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons or the New York Knicks of the early to mid 90's?

I'll take Bulls "goonery" over stuff like this any day:

And really, every NBA team has a bit of both, Noah flops a lot to get calls for the Bulls when he's working the glass and the Norris Cole push at the end of the game was a total flop. the flip side to the Miami coin is that tattooed junkie Birdman (and like I have previously pointed out, Wade). He has been looking for any excuse all series long....

I'm not a Bulls fan, but I enjoy it.

You better hope the Spurs don't make it out of the West, because this is nothing compared to the stuff that Pop is willing to do to win in the Finals. Blood will be spilled.

so you say youll take the bulls goonery over flopping and then also say how noah flops, but youll take noah flopping over goonery, is that right?
