If NFL players had any class, they'd make a pack to break Rice's leg his first game back. Fuck that motherfucker.

The (obvious?) play here is that the NFL should maintain the 2-game suspension, tack on a 6-game with this new video evidence, and consider Ray Rice in violation of the 1st offense under the new rules...next time is lifetime ban.
Right?

You know what's really pissing me off about this? It took photographic evidence to get things moving. What the NFL and others really need to learn is to be a bit more trustworthy of the women who say they have been assaulted. You've still got the Greg? Hardy case out there, and perhaps Ray McDonald...make your next move.
Oh, and speaking of McDonald, I just realized that Jim Harbaugh is full of shit with his zero-tolerance statement because he let Perrish Cox be on his roster. Fuck Perrish Cox, I made sure to boo him when he picked off Romo yesterday.

Good move by the Ravens, but man, that sucks for the Ravens.
Unfortunate for their franchise that they got such a bad apple. I don't know if they looked past some things on his background check...I know nothing of Ray Rice's history...but maybe they saw something and took him anyway? Or maybe this blindsided them.
On the other hand this is the team that kept Ray Lewis under questionable circumstances...

I'm not sure if it sucks that bad. If last season meant everything there's a decent chance that he could be washed up anyway. This cut does make the Ravens' cap tighter but it's not devastating.

No suspension yet...

I was thinking about posting another conspiracy theory in which Goodell drops the hammer on Rice unilaterally and dares the NFLPA to file a grievance so that he can gain PR leverage on them in future collective bargaining.

More realistically, I wouldn't be surprised if Goodell does with Rice what he did with Aaron Hernandez, in if there was a team that wanted to sign him it would have to get preapproval by the league offices. This is where I wish Al Davis could come back from the dead and add Rice to further solidify that roster of washed up RBs that were awesome five years ago.

It sucks on many levels. Cap space ... OK maybe they end up winning on that end. But I don't think you ever want to just lose your starting RB out of the blue like that. Plus it's a PR nightmare for the franchise.
However they got to their solution today...they did the right thing by firing him. It just sucks for the team that one of their (top) guys turned out to be suck a jackass. If this was my team the thought running through my mind as a fan would be "man this is so unfair."
But another part of me says fuck it, because I was in Maryland last month and stores were still pimping Ray Rice gear on their retail floors and if they, as fans, are willing to look past all this then they deserve it.

Sounds like the police really fucked up in this as well.

In non-Ray Rice news, this is terrible for the Colts. They already demonstrated yesterday that they are getting lit up without a pass rush--now it's that way for 15+ more games instead of 3:

lol yeah who needs evidence of a crime. A crime's heinousness is all you need to convict.
