Coitanly!
Besides the obivious
RoboCop, The Matrix, The Terminator, A Clockwork Orange, etc.:
Videodrome
Alphaville
Daybreakers (Not great, but better than one might expect.)
Gattaca
How I Live Now
La jetee
Jubilee
Night of the Hunted (Compelling and beautiful, though not entirely successful.)
Soldier
Sleeper
THX 1138
Turkey Shoot (aka Escape 2000)
Total Recall (Both of them, believe it or not.)
Stalker
Some weirdo stuff that's not necessarily great, but odd enough that they're worth checking out:
Revengers Tragedy
Quintet
Zardoz

How do you feel about my appraisal of Shawshank, especially as it relates to stacking up to Quiz Show.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate appraisal of Shawshank. I haven't seen it in years, but I've always considered it rather bland and vanilla (which is probably why I haven't revisited it). Just like you said - it's fine, I don't dislike it. But there's just nothing particularly special or interesting about it. It's just there.
Still need to see
Quiz Show.

I stuck with it, wish I didn't.
- Spoiler: show
- there was some clairvoyant girl and an alien at the end, though
Horrible. Hear they might make it into a series.

Skitch, if this doesn't absolutely prove that Shawshank is brilliant, nothing ever will. Don't be a willful idiot.

I know it's the incorrect forum but have you listened to either Live 1966 or Desire yet, LV?

I have not. I've actually gotten into a bunch of other folk artists from the period, though. Dave Van Ronk, Phil Ochs, Tim Hardin, etc. Maybe they'll help me "get" Dylan.
