I can only assume Ponder is preparing to go as Jay Cutler for Halloween.

I guess the only question is whether or not I need to post the Krustyburglar video again. One more Packers TD would likely mandate it.

Ponder obviously sucks (I let out the biggest groan in the universe when I saw he was starting) but Norv did him no favors with the playcalling. I'm not sure he understand how to use Patterson. Dude has taken bubble screens, pitches, and jet sweeps 50+ yards and they don't call a single one? Bogus.
On the bright side I will always love that PA double move to Nelson. Every time they do it and you see Rodgers start to wind up it's like the whole defense shits their pants.

Phew!
I'm pretty stunned the defense forced that last punt. They were so awful once Shields and Williams went out.

Sigh. I wish Miami would have at least made Rodgers earn it at the end instead of lining up a LB who can't cover anybody ever 1 on 1 outside. But that QB you guys have, he's alright.

they really might be. while the offense isn't firing on all cylinders, the defense appears more solid than it's been in a few years. i'll take that balance over 20 point leads that are never safe.

also, the injuries to both starting CBs do not appear to be serious.

Spike likely hears that quite frequently anyway, we can probably keep it in its own thread.

Interesting article. It speaks to some of the things spike said about Rodgers after the Seattle game. I'd love to see his numbers in these situations compared to Favre's, since they really seem to be polar opposites in these regards.
If you watched both of them in their absolute primes (Favre's 3 MVP run with the Super Bowl title in the middle, Rodgers' Super Bowl run followed by the 15-1 MVP season), who would you want as your quarterback in the following situations (going by your gut)...
-Facing a heavy favorite
-Facing an underdog
-Facing a big (14 +) halftime deficit
-In a shootout (both teams scoring 30+)
-In a defensive battle (neither team scoring over 20)
-Down big early
-Down by four in a two minute drive
-Down by fourteen at the start of the fourth
I think for me my answers would be (in order) Favre, Rodgers, Favre, Rodgers, Rodgers, Rodgers (though this is one situation where I think Favre was better late in his career than he was early on), Rodgers, Favre
What about you, spike (or anyone else)?

i dunno, with the exception of the super bowl season, rodgers has been on teams with historically awful defenses, so i think that has something to do with him unable to lead comebacks. he'll put points on the board late, but so will the opposing team.
that being said, i answered lament's poll and i'd rather have the ol gunslinger when the odds are against the pack. i mean, in his hey day, favre was amazing in the two minute offense. or should i say, favre/holmgren.

Hard to believe Carolina just hung 37 on the Bengals last week.

Turns out having a maniac on your defensive line improves overall toughness. They'll still get a home game in the playoffs.
Rodgers is freaking awesome.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. It's not like Tampa Bay or Atlanta are gonna win that division, and I'd take Carolina over New Orleans right now in a heartbeat.
