The performance on Seth Meyers was a bit of a let down. Not sure if it was the mix or what but I was hoping for a bit more oomph when they played.
Sadly I'm in the same boat. I first saw them in '99 at a place called Glass Factory. I think it was $8.matt reeder wrote:I couldn't even get tickets for Portland at any of the sale dates. Ugh. I'm not going to pay $150 on Stubhub to see a band I used to regularly pay $12 to see.COrinscutie wrote:No east show. I've lived in Portland for the last 4 years so
I'm doing Portland and the last two Seattle shows.
Maybe I'll luck into tickets...but I'm not counting on it.
100% of the time, Crystal does a re-release of tickets for sold out shows. I just got tickets to Tweedy and Mac Demarco this way. Just set up Facebook and twitter alerts and they will post when they release them. Fool proof.swan wrote:Sadly I'm in the same boat. I first saw them in '99 at a place called Glass Factory. I've really been considering dropping the $150 because I feel like I have to be at the show, but at the same time that's ridiculous..
Not feeling this at all. But we also disagree on Batman & Robin, so....LoathedVermin72 wrote:I know I'm probably alone in thinking this, but honestly I kind of wish they hadn't reunited. It has tarnished their legacy in my mind. It's not that NCTL is BAD, but it is sooooo much worse than their prior output that it has knocked them down a peg in my mind.
Really, the worst part isn't so much that the album is WORSE than prior albums, but that the album feels so boring and uninteresting. I mean, I'm not a huge fan of 808s & Heartbreak, but at least that album is interesting. Kanye is trying something new. It's a necessary step in his musical evolution. I don't find anything new or compelling about anything S-K is doing on NCTL. It just feels like a watered-down version of who they once were, only now they're compromised by ten years of outside influences that aren't nearly as interesting as what the old S-K was.
They seemed infallible prior to this. Even their performances I've seen (on late night shows) seem neutered and boring. This is not the S-K I know and love.

It doesn't matter which album the other one was; this is wrong.durdencommatyler wrote:I have listened to exactly 2 Sleater-Kinney albums. NCTL is the best of those two.
