I tried getting into that Elder album but it didn't quite hit the spot, I'll probably give it another chance sooner or later.

That's me and the new Tame Impala record. I'm thinking I'm pretty close to a second spin, though. Maybe next weekend?

It took me about 4 listens to appreciate Currents. Now I I can't get the hooks out of my head.

That was amazing. I just bought the Flac after one view.

And Australian and with a real sad backstory.

Thanks for posting that.

Yeah the whole story is really sad. But it's an incredible listen. Glad you dig it.

The last minute and a half of the final song "Challenger Part 2 - A Swan Song" just bought chills.

Yeah I think swan song is my favourite. Destroys you.

Did you read the breakdown of who each song is about?

Youtube Commentor Luke Johnson wrote: While this song is cited to reference the self-sacrifice of Captain Lawrence Oates during an Antarctic expedition in 1912, I can't help but feel the song as well as its album are a tribute to Chris Torpy, their late vocalist.

Every song bleeds an artistic dilemma, a beautiful void where Chris' voice should be, and each story enclosed is a brutal parable to his presence and departure in this strange reality we call life. This album speaks to us on a level that few musical endeavors can, getting to the core of what grief and meaninglessness can mean, leaving each posed question with a sense of beautiful confusion, a subtle chaos.

Rest in peace, Chris Torpy, and may the music ring forever in the hearts of those you left behind.

Little too "post rocky" for me, but I dig it. I can almost always respect a Travis Bean.

Mailman just dropped off this LP. It fucking slays.

New Esmerine record out October 16 on Constellation, titled Lost Voices. It's being touted as their "rock" album, with a more prominent presence for guitars and drums alongside the strings and mallet percussion of their core.

Lead-off track is "The Neighbourhoods Rise":

There's also possibly a new release coming from British Theatre (Mike Vennart and Richard Ingram from Oceansize and Vennart) this year, their first full length. They released a free song on Bandcamp that is apparently part of the album, called the "Cross the Swords."

Sapokanikan is so good. (That gorgeous ending :heartbeat: This is already becoming one of my favorite songs this year) This is gonna be AOTY material for me. Let's see if she can beat Sufjan.
