darth_vedder wrote:Did anyone notice at the end of RITFW the band is winding down after Stone's solo, it looks like it's about over, then Mike comes in for a quickie solo? Colbert seemed caught off guard, like "wow! these guys are gonna keep going???", then what looked like Colbert and Mike laughing about it, the song ends. I thought that moment was pretty good.
That was nice. All of it was great. I haven't enjoyed that song in 20+ years. But, I really loved that performance of it.

I'm not sure. The MSNBC broadcast is several hours long. I would imagine they are airing most of, if not all, of the show.
Cool, thanks
The guide shows 100% of it being broadcast on MSNBC.
Yeah it's airing for 7 hours on MSNBC. Does anyone know around what time or slot PJ is playing?
Guys, I'm going to record this if anyone wants to come over on Sunday and watch. I'll be smoking a brisket.

Would've liked to hear a new song but I thought they sounded pretty good—probably their best TV performance since SNL 2006. The "interview" portion was predictably bland. I completely tuned out right around the time Ed said "carbon credits".

Also, if I say that the Ryan Adams Taylor Swift album is better than Lightning Bolt will that get me banned from the forums?

both 1989s are terrible, but they are both better than LB. In any case, hating on LB is practically a requirement to post here, not cause for banning.

Bono is gonna play RitFW with them. 100% guarantee.

The only saving grace would be if FLOTUS gets out there with some tambourines.

John Mcenroe is actually playing with them on guitar. He soundchecked.

To the people that can't handle celebrity activism or Ed dueting with a pop singer, can we just start calling them the Tea Party?

There is def a Tea Party faction to PJs fanbase (small as it is, and those were probably the douches booing in the crowd) and I'd be pretty happy if these dudes just left already or were vanquished and shamed by all of the normal folks in this great fanbase.

VANQUISH THEM!!!!!!

Anyways, I really enjoyed this performance. I agree that the guitars sound pretty incredible (I love how Stone sounds going into the line for chorus/bridge for the first time), but don't know if it's due to better mixing or some change in equipment; I think it's possible Stone has incorporated some kind of stomp box that's working wonders.

In general, barring some Ed stumbles, it definitely sounds like they put in some rehearsal prior to the show this weekend. Ed's struggling to keep up at points, but it sounds more due to age and diminished capacity than laziness.
