Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah but also, it's political. The movie obviously has a better chance winning in that category than in the Drama category. This happens all the time with Lead v Supporting performances. It's all about odds. And it's all meaningless.

So apparently Allison Mack is involved in a sex cult... that's a bummer.

Yeah, it's pretty awful. And it's really surprising to me that she's involved in this. Just goes to show that anyone is capable of anything. This year has been a straight up lesson.

She was one of the women who quit after it emerged that they had branded her with the guy's initials, though.

Sure, you'd like to think the actual branding itself would have been a clue that there was somethiing not quite kosher about this corporate consulting organization, but at least we know she does draw the line somewhere.
