Agreed. I like Woody Allen but only own a few of his movies.
To be fair, I think even most of his mid-level stuff is very pleasant, breezy, and entertaining. I think it's definitely more than 10% that's good. I've seen almost every one of his movies, and I would only call eight of them flat-out bad. And his top-tier material is VERY good.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Exaggerating a bit.

Woody had a really nice run until the 2000s. Now about every third movie is good.

Go exaggerate a bit on the 2000's tournament tie-breaker.

i'll definitely be listening to loathed's podcast on linklater. i think he's one of the most interesting, underrated and best filmmakers from the states. same would go for one on glazer, who i like quite a lot.

I watched a lot of movies this weekend:
Amores Perros: really stupendous, the only Innaritu I've genuinely liked.
Boxing Gym: by Frederick Wiseman, another great movie
Lifeboat: Hitchcock, has one great moment, otherwise middling
Rain Man: saw it when I was a kid, meh
Invasion of the Body Snatchers: good, not great

Sin City 2. More like The Spirit than Sin City 1 I'm afraid.
I'd like to watch the first again to compare, but this one is less like the comic and just plain ugly. Marv didn't look tough, he just looks stupid. And the strip club is a joke. I thought Hollywood types went to strip clubs all the time? Why are they always so fake in movies? The voiceover is cringe inducing as well.

That’s just terrible writing, and it makes it boring to watch because they just keep re-feeding me the same plot information I was already given.
I did notice, yes. And it is bad writing.

No sé, me entró como ansiedad cuando me di cuenta que coincidía con el MusicWins, entonces me puse a mirar lugares. Igual no reservé nada todavía.

Si, dos dias. No es gran cosa, pero prefería estar el festival entero.
