I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Mostly still amazing but the last scene is so bad
Would you ask the projectionist to end it right before?

Beau Is Afraid was a blast.

Or, at least it was up until everything at the mother's house, and then I just kind of wanted it to be over (but that attic scene was fun!)

Watched The Duellists yesterday for the first time, Ridley Scott's first feature, a good adaptation of the Conrad story, beautifully shot in a very obviously post-Barry Lyndon vein, excellent and ridiculously deep ensemble cast led by Keith Carradine and Harvey Keitel. Napoleon is wholly off-screen as distant animating presence, no big battles and no need for them. Very good movie.

Also saw that Blue Beetle was unceremoniously dumped on HBO so I put it on and half-watched while I worked. I can't believe this movie was released to theaters. Seems almost cruel. It never stood a chance.

Killing Them Softly - mostly shit. What's with the constant real world news updates about the election? Is he seriously trying to draw parallels to his dumb gangster movie? It's so hamfisted.

3/10

Bronson - too long but it has it's moments.
