Shohei ohtani or rather the cult surrounding him and I guess by extension the whole dodgers organization.
This is a petty grievance but mookie betts is second in all star voting at short stop and he’s batting just a whisker over .200 on the season. That’s the kind of stat that gets you subbed out for someone from AAA, not put in an all star game.
I hate celebrity culture. But I think that’s rational so maybe it doesn’t belong in this thread.

all-star games across all the sports where they allow fan voting to dictate part of the results will do this. name recognition beats deserving most of the time.

I hate the Spotify algorithm often for this very reason. You’re in a groove with a niche artist, then always eventually it suplexes you with mainstream crud and ruins everything.
