That's pretty solid.cutuphalfdead wrote:I tend to prefer the signs that are disparaging towards Hunter Pence, but this is a great one:

I heard this yesterday as well. However, if the Cards make it Pierzynski will probably be on the 25 man. Also, Hudson played a little in 1999. Amazing stat nonetheless. I remember watching Hudson in Omaha when he played at Auburn as an All American pitcher/DH.numbers wrote:For the first time ever, there will be a team in the World Series without any players who played in the 20th century.

Probably 2021.Simple Torture wrote:That's an awesome bit of trivia. When do you all think we'll have the last World Series with any 20th-century players?
I was about to say, "No, probably sooner," because 2021 seems so far into the future. But after I realized that that's only 6+ years away, that sounds like a good guess to me.cutuphalfdead wrote:Probably 2021.Simple Torture wrote:That's an awesome bit of trivia. It continues to amaze me that Major League managers can be so oblivious to to the most basic concepts of how to manage a baseball team on the field.
I mean... at least in the regular season, as stupid as it is, they're pitching to the save. But how can someone possibly do the same in a do-or-die playoff game?cutuphalfdead wrote:Yeah I lol'd at that response too.philpritchard wrote:cutuphalfdead wrote:Deadspin is right. Matheny fucked this up.
