I'm going for more George Roy Hill tonight - watching The Great Waldo Pepper.

I really enjoyed this. It was a little wonky tonally, but Redford was great and the stunts were amazing.

I thought about trying out Funny Farm, but I fucking hate Chevy Chase.

I goddamn love Funny Farm. But I also haven't seen it in years. It may not hold up. But god I remember just loving the fuck out of that thing. Hating Chevy might actually work in your favor here, though. The character in the movie is a giant dick and I don't think you're supposed to "like" him. It's more of an "Almost Sunny" type comedy, where you're meant to find humor and joy in how shitty he is.

Oh boy does it. One of those films I can toss on when I really need a laugh.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

that action sequence toward the end was really cool and well done.. but the movie as a whole felt like it was a tad adolescent, leaving something to be desired for my refined tastes

I was scrolling randomly through the various apps and The Shooting caught my eye. I like both Jack Nicholson and Warren Oates, plus it's under 90 minutes.
