Stastny didn’t shove anyone. That play happens off face offs every game. He’s just trying to get to his spot at the point, and that’s a split second thing where he’s just naturally putting his arms up to defend himself. Pavelski being off balance is what made it worse. Neither Vegas guy did anything wrong.

The refs excuse was they thought he got cross checked in the head, so they clearly saw nothing and just guessed. All the video shows they didn’t even raise their arms for a penalty initially.

i think the violence toed the line the entire series, and I don't think casual plays tend to have such major consequence. all things considered, I like the idea of penalties being assessed on the basis of the consequences of the play.

also, vegas had some bullshit calls go their way. I seem to remember goaltender interference called when fleury was outside the blue paint

I think you were right the first time. Avs speed impressed me and McKinnon is a beast. Neither team has stellar goaltending so the games should be fun to follow.

I feel so 'r' word for living so close to STL and not following this at all. Hockey is such a goddamn fun sport! And if I start now I'll feel like a bandwagon fan and I just can't do it...

Just watch, don't worry so much about your affiliations. Just enjoy sport for the pure enjoyment of sport. Hockey playoffs are awesome.

All that matters is if you have fun following the team and the sport in general. Playoff hockey is great! There's room for another Blues fan.

A buddy of mine watches all sports recorded so he can fast forward through commercials (he doesn't use social media). He's a big Blues fan. He said he finished watching the game last night around midnight and had to watch a nature documentary for an two hours afterwards to calm down before bed.
