Finally saw Noah. I don't know, while I appreciate that Aronofsky tried to imbue his own style into what's essentially an action flick, it just kinda came across as a total mishmash in both style AND plot. Also, his font choice for the title sequences was hideous.

Adore.

I liked it a lot more than others seem to. It's gotten unfavorable reviews. But Naomi Watts and (especially) Robin Wright are outstanding. They both turn out masterclass performances. Decent script. Pretty. Far from perfect. Some pacing issues. Give it like 3 out of 5. Something like that. But with 5 star performances from the leading ladies.

Also, really want to read the novella.

Escape Plan. I laughed pretty hard when Arnold grabbed that big gun off the choppa it was worth it just for that sequence.

what do you think went wrong with crowe that resulted in a life devoid of ultra-marathons?

The premise sounds interesting, but people keep saying it's bad, so I've resisted.

It had Nolan attached to it, and pretty much everything he touches is gold. This was just shit

Snowpiercer. Fun watch. They essentially tried to make The Raid on a train, but the action sequences weren't as good. Swinton and Hurt were fantastic as usual. Glad this was moderately successful as it was way better than the endless flood of superhero/sci-fi action crap we are currently wading in.
