Normally, I'd totally agree. But this is Ed we're talking about. It speaks to nothing more than how buzzed he was when he designed the setlist.

So with the new album “Can’t Deny Me” is the only song Ed has put lyrics to at this stage of the recording process.

I don't think this was part of the new album process, though. This was just Ed pissed off about Trump, etc. and wrote a song about it.

I think he was inspired by the Florida school kids speaking out. Probably not much to it.

the #1 problem with the song though is the schoolyard taunt bridge(?). if the song went somewhere cool at that moment it would brighten things up a lot.
