When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

Think Ed sounds fairly cheerful on this album.

He always seems to have a true meaning behind his songs, someone he met or knows, or even about himself.

I think this convo and also Mark's death has made me realise I'm still affected by Chris' death and I'm also thinking about how cut up I'll be when it's Ed's time, and I'm just uninterested in whether or not Ed hates Chris' wife, because I'm sure Chris' whole family has suffered and I'm OK with leaving it there; as far as the rights to Chris' music and that whole saga goes, I just don't have any feelings on it either way, but I'm not ready to call the mother of Chris' kids a monster

There’s a long story about that, that even spilled over into angry insta posts by the wife of Chris against Ed’s wife (other stuff on twitter and fb). Even publically a lot has happened. Probably why Ed didn’t go to the funeral. His family is close with Chris’ first daughter with Susan Silver though. She’s good friends with Ed’s daughters.

it's all extremely fucked and I'm sure she's done some things she shouldn't have, I'm not disputing that; and if Ed is protective of his wife over and above everything else, I don't blame him either

So is Good and Evil gross? It seems there are other examples of Ed anger being pointed directly at a person in this way.

this is a familiar, ugly, toxic trope. And it would be both wildly out of character and beyond petty if true. Obviously I cant say definitvely if it is or isnt.
considering the source, a male rock star who has been championing women's rights for his entire career, i think the tone of the message is a little bit different.

maybe this is about his brother's wife and he actually hates her? lol
I think if Chris had a partner named Jon. Ed feeling if these are his feelings would be the same. I think if it is a rant and I'm not saying it is. It would be a rant about the character of the person based knowledge of that person that we dont have.

Haven't had time to spin the record, but I went ahead and dropped the needle on Ms. Mills because I've been singing that in my head for 2 weeks now.

Sounds great!

again, i'm not a lyric person and don't really wanna hype this idea of 'eddie vs vicky cornell' but holy shit, this guy is angry at someone. i could 100% see these lyrics being about an eastern european model who married an american businessman, but wow, EV is pissed.

Great word choice. I understand your position 100%. However I give Ed the benifit of the doubt. If it is about Chris's widow. It doesnt really seem anymore scathing than Comes and Goes. I think it is more nuanced than this women destroyed this man's life. I don't think cares what the pronouns are. This human/earthling is on some level partially part of the problem. Remember the he in the song fell on his sword so in that regard he is also as responsible or more for allowing the toxicity of the relationship to reach this level.

Power of Right and Rose of Jericho ... why aren't these Pearl Jam songs? These are Pearl Jam songs.
Fallout Today, Good and Evil - pass
Picture - Better than I originally thought
Try and Mrs. Mills (and maybe Brother the Cloud) - I want more of this Eddie Vedder

Sorry if my interpretation of the POR lyrics has offended that wasn’t the point.

I could be wrong it was just my assumption.

Only Ed knows, you have nothing to be sorry for. It is intriguing at least.
