I've heard Gun, With Occasional Music is good but have never gotten around to it.

I've been meaning to give that one a second read. It was the first book of his that I read, but it was a long time ago. I honestly don't even remember what I really enjoyed about it. It's felt like diminishing returns since then though. It culminated with Dissident Gardens for me. That book was a slog, and I didn't give a shit about a single character in it.
