Godsmack is really an elaborate AIC tribute band, right? They cover songs that Layne would have written while not under the influence, yeah?

I remember hearing about the band and thinking, but their name is a AIC song? are they a cover band?

Same here. I even popped over to Spenno's tournament to see if some less familiar titles would jump out at me, but no luck -- their whole sound and general aesthetic just isn't something that speaks to me.
