Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Two movies I'd watched but a long, long time ago, in my teens. With how my tastes have evolved I figured I'd dislike them or find a lot to criticize now but nope, they're both beautiful. Sunrise does an incredible job at giving you the vicarious thrill of blossoming romance, but I think I prefer the 30s disappointment and neuroses of Sunset a little better. Guess I should watch Midnight next, which I haven't seen yet

Those two are favorites of mine and Midnight is perfect. I saw it when it came out and I was dealing with a crisis of a relationship and that scene at the hotel is just perfect.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Also, anal

I haven't seen them in a while. Probably saw Before Midnight at least 5 years ago and the rest before that sometime. What I remember enjoying is the intimacy, authenticity and rawness of all of them. As Jorge said, there is a vicarious thrill in watching the relationship grow and change. Very well written dialogue and good acting.

I'm watching a Danish movie about a group of teachers who decide to become high functioning, controlled alcoholics in an effort to improve their lives, starring Mads Mikkelsen called Another Round, in English. I'ts pretty good so far! I can't wait for the consequences. These guys think they are so smart.

Just finished it. Really sad to learn the director's daughter died just days into shooting. Director considered taking his own life at one point, but wound up finishing the movie and altering it into a more "life affirming" one. It wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be, but also not as good. 6.7/10 wet beds.

A movie from 1994 called The Crow. The effects did not age well technically, but there's an aesthetic charm in them. Some bad guy moments are pretty campy and silly, and a lot of the acting feels cheap. It's very stylistic, I really like the editing and overall aesthetic. Fun, campy Halloween comic book vibe. Pretty great soundtrack. What exactly are his superpowers after being reawakened from the dead by a crow to seek vengeance? Perhaps it is only the rejuvenated body, which has recovered from a year's worth of decay from its underground burial, which is now invincible and quickly heals from any wounds inflicted. He also has some extreme gymnastic, swingin' around and fighting abilities, but it is unknown if he possessed those before his untimely death. So now he's out to avenge the murder of his fiance and himself one year ago on Halloween's eve, with the guidance of a crow, and it's mostly a generic revenge plot. But the style, soundtrack and campy charm are what make it work. I just hope nobody was harmed during the making of this film, with all the extreme violence portrayed. 7.27/10 Cure songs.

I really like this movie. But I prefer the original Danish title, which apparently translates to DRUNK

Next Goal Wins. Funny and charming, but not likely to convert a Taika Waititi hater.
