Agree with Foo Fighters totally. They are a three album band for me; the first two and Wasting Light (which I liked a lot when it was released, but never go back to).

Yeah, it had some strong stuff. But ESP&G, Sonic Highways, and St Cecilia were all garbage.
Don't forget that double album.

Live is a great answer. I loved their first few albums.

Those first two are top-notch. That rhythm section really swings!

I was a big fan of the first four albums and liked plenty about the fifth too, then it got pretty bad.

Live is opening for GN'R next month. I'm excited to see them. :P

Live is actually a pretty damn good live band. I'd be more excited to see them than GNR by a long shot.

My Morning Jacket. Tennessee Fire --> Okonokos are all five star albums, Evil Urges and Circuital are garbage, and The Waterfall is only OK. Live show has always been consistently great, at least.

Live and Our Lady Peace are similar to me in that they each started off with 2/3 outstanding albums, then put out a couple that I didn't like overall but had a good song or two... then I never listened to anything ever again. They were both among my favourite bands at one point and they both have a couple albums I could still listen to over and over at any time.

OLP: Happiness and Spiritual Machines were both really good. Mostly awful after that.

Brand New: The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me was impossible to follow up, and they weren't even close with Daisy. Then disappeared.

DMB: Had Before These Crowded Streets, Crash and Under the Table and Dreaming. Not close since.

Blur: From Parklife through 13 was a great run.

Really this happens with nearly every band.

I hate both of them, but to me, Foo Fighters and Green Day seem to be churning out the same quality (shit!) stuff they always did.

Green Day's current pop punk doesn't seem much different than "Dookie" to me. Maybe a bit more produced.

Foos current form of sterile alt-rock sounds like the sterile alt-rock they've always made.

Gomez. First 3 albums were stellar, then they fell off a fucking cliff.
