just listened to it. it's worse than i remember.

There are way more offensive songs in PJ's catalog than Rock around barack. That at least was supposed to obviosuly be awful/ridiculous.

maybe PJ is like that relationship that was great, but just fizzled with time. you leave. and then you go out and try and find a new one. there are some nice hot moments, some short passionate hookups. but in the end, you feel like you can't find better and just decide to settle and go back to the arms of your original lover

then you have kids and things are a little better at first, but the financial and emotional strain put on your and your counterpart is just too much, so you start bickering and fighting more than usual. sometimes you skip dinner and drive around the city just to get some alone time. sometimes you call in sick to work and just go watch a movie because goddammit you never get to watch movies anymore unless it's some Mickey Mouse's Playhouse bullshit and you just can't take it anymore. YOU NEED CINEMA! but then you come home, and there are some popcorn crumbs on your shirt and your wife wonders where you've been. you tell her the truth for once: you just needed some alone time so you went to see a movie. but is that enough for her? NO! she assumes you went with another woman! no matter how much you prove it's not true, she just won't believe you. you show her your movie stub – "you threw the other one away." you show her your credit card statement - "she bought her own ticket". This just pushes you further and further away until the band that keeps you together breaks, and you're both floating in space without an anchor. she creates a Tindr profile because "she wants to see if any of our neighbors are on there". but it's too tempting. she messages someone. "it's innocent," she thinks. they text back and forth. for months. one day, they meet up for lunch. next day, they meet up for dinner. next time, they meet up for dinner and a movie, and she goes inside his apartment when invited. one night during another quiet dinner between you and her, she blurts out, "I'VE MET SOMEONE!" you drop your fork. she walks out the door. and you're alone..... once again.

If they hinted at something like that I would report them to HR for sexual harassment.

I was just thinking about this the other day and to me it is a combination of things that will never happen:

1. Give Rock and Roll a chance again (not grunge, not pop, not punk--rock with a blues soul--you know Mike would)
2. Record an album live--no Brendan Obrien lasers and solo fadeouts--just sound like a show
3. No Ed solo Pearl Jam wannabe songs
4. Melodies, Choruses, Riffs
5. Leave Boom in Hawaii for an album
6. I want No Code crashing into Yield with the best of both
7. Lyrics with depth and not overwrought
8. No A side fast / B side slow--I want it all fast
