Disney has a lot of faith in Rian. This makes me even more excited for The Last Jedi.

This announcement doesn't surprise me in the slightest (other than the news of Johnson helming it).

It makes me wonder why they didn't have him do Episode 9, too, if he's caught the magical touch.

It does make me more excited for TLJ.

Rumblings that Rians trilogy is going to be going way way back to the very origins of the Jedi. So even way before KOTOR.
Ahch to is confirmed to be the first Jedi temple so if it happens this way presumably loads more filming in Ireland.

he wasn’t ever doing 9 cos he was already signed up to do this new trilogy. He seems to have had some wonderful backstory filled out and the said let’s make that into a trilogy. It’s almost certainly got to do with the origins of the Jedi.


In terms of style I wonder how this trilogy is going to look and feel once complete. JJ to Rian back to JJ. That’s kinda intriguing right?
