If you're not listening to Sturgill Simpson you should be.

the 'classic country' station on Pandora plays all pretty good country poop. i usually put it on in the background when people visit my abode.

Are you asking me?

There are a few new/current country artists that I can generally recognize. No one that I listen to regularly or would necessarily call myself a fan of. I either just listen to the country station, or I have an I-Heart-Radio station going based on Zac Brown band.

But otherwise it all kinda blends together. I can't really distinguish one from the other. Even the handful of songs I really like, probably couldn't tell you the artist's name off the top of my head.

Then you have your uber-popular throwback artists which I recognize right away (Garth, McGraw, Toby Keith, Reba, etc.). At one point I really loved Tim McGraw.

Outside of his unfortunate lyrical redface, yeah, I can dig on some Tim McGraw. Especially the first couple records.

The Dixie Chicks' "Home" record is one of the best of its decade. What a true joy that record is.

Y’all might enjoy Cory Morrow’s 2002 breakthrough, Outside the Lines.
