My favorite part of "Puzzles and Games" is the title.

Stop trying to take away Chud's joy in lording it over PJ n00bs that he knows more about PJ than they do.digster wrote:Puzzles and Games' only saving graces are its chorus and a musical bridge which works and sounds better in Light Years anyway. I think it's one of the more overrated things in PJ land.
The guys from Collective Soul have aged phenomenally well.theplatypus wrote:stip wrote:Great chorus and mysterious verses that glide right past you. I wasn't lording over anyone. I prefer Light Years myself, but if someone who might not have heard P&G complains about Light Years it's only natural to suggest P&G to them.Bammer wrote:Stop trying to take away Chud's joy in lording it over PJ n00bs that he knows more about PJ than they do.digster wrote:Puzzles and Games' only saving graces are its chorus and a musical bridge which works and sounds better in Light Years anyway. you are just wrong.mikejasond wrote:Ive heard some live versions and I have to say, I LOVE the way they do the intro, with the bouncy guitars and the slightly different melody. I think it's way more interesting than the album version which sounds like the rest of the song, but then soon live it transitions into the verse and I just don't like where the chords go....something just gets ruined. I think there's a flatness in this song and the chords they use, and I would love to hear a full song with the same feel as the live intro.
Its a weird song because I like like half of it and then other parts drag it down. I think I like the melody of the verse but not the guitar work under it and all the times they hit the same note/chord over and over again. I love the beginning of the chorus but by the chord change on "Wherever we may go" I feel like the song lost its energy.
Then after the second chorus Im like ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
But there's just a few glimpses in here that I really like.
Its weird because I feel like it comes close to that but there are weird parts of the composition I dont like and I dont know exactly whatKurtLeon wrote:you are just wrong.mikejasond wrote:Ive heard some live versions and I have to say, I LOVE the way they do the intro, with the bouncy guitars and the slightly different melody. I think the only thing Im not a fan of this song is Ed's delivery, he sounds tired or annoyed. But the guitar work is absolutely beautyful.mikejasond wrote:Its weird because I feel like it comes close to that but there are weird parts of the composition I dont like and I dont know exactly whatKurtLeon wrote:you are just wrong.mikejasond wrote:Ive heard some live versions and I have to say, I LOVE the way they do the intro, with the bouncy guitars and the slightly different melody.
