I hope the sarcasm was obvious. And if someone makes a play on Hitchhiker and then someone follows right back with something that uses "Jew", rather than making a comment on the previous slur then it's rather different than someone just using the word "Jew".

If people aren't happy and take the time to email Stip then I think he is right to take them down or at least make a comment about posting. And yes that might involve a few posts being deleted that were benign. If people want to get on a high horse about Freedom of Speech then that's fine but this is a moderated board. A few months ago people were "riffing" on Pearl Jam song names that referenced sexual abuse of children which I found massively offensive and said so, only to get responses like some here "where's your sense of humour?!" Fortunately that thread was deleted. I don't know why people can't accept that their lame jokes might possibly offend people.
