Difficult to comment on as I haven’t seen it (obviously). But I do enjoy most of the major classic French movies. They have a certain kind of feel and focus that can be difficult to find in Hollywood movies.

Haha yes, just that there are no cold hard facts in these matters. There might be a consensus among critics and/or the audience, or you could look at awards/box office, or cultural impact. Either way it’s all subjective. No doubt Casablanca will be around for centuries to come.

The movie is not one of the greatest because of Curtiz, I would rather say despite. Although I do enjoy several of his movies.

Yes, probably the best Robin Hood.

Goodfellas really changed everyone's perception/recognition of Scorsese.

I feel like he went from underrated to overrated in the span of a year.

My knowledge of movies pre-1970 is basically non existent.

Outside of Kubrick I guess.

Fear and Loathing is awesome. I fucking love that movie. I saw Urban Cowboy at some party in high school or college. I don’t remember any of it. Never seen the rest.
