He sued a grieving widow for thousands of dollars for unkowingly selling one of her dead husband's bootleg CD's on eBay.

The backlash has been huge, and he totally fucking deserves it. What an asshole.

He opted to not collect the damages which almost makes it worse.

Fuck this guy and his shitty music.

Had not realized Robert Cray refused to tour with him, as an opener, after the COVID tracks.

I haven't read the articles but I'd be curious how much involvement Clapton had with the suit, there very well could be very tenacious lawyers at work. He has the final say but can be fairly removed from it all.

That said, I am finding it difficult to separate art from artist these days.

I find it easier than ever. I’m more detached from the artist than I’ve ever been. Not specifically for EC, but in general.

It's easy when the artist's art fucling sucks (as is the case with Clapton)

I’m not big on Clapton but Danger w/ JJ Cale is a great song. Reminds me of Vicious by Lou Reed. Clapton and Cale both have perfect solos on that track.

I don’t know anything about this story, but someone being a grieving widow doesn’t make them anymore above a lawsuit than you or I are. I was speaking more about his stance on the vaccine mandates. Mandates that are being proven more and more meaningless everyday.
