i'm not talking about taking a bite out of a salt lick with every fry.
they're fries. they're meant to be salted. it's like having unsalted fish -- it just ruins it.

I did try a cinnamon bun in Reykjavik at Brauð & Co. It was the best I've ever had.

You know what obscure-in-this-area regional chain I miss? Krystal. Their fries could fit in you car's cup holder. The last one here closed down five years ago.
