I dont think the Purple one looks bad. But no one good ever had one. It's insignificant and means nothing other than "Sam Jackson wants to look different"

That's a good point. I heard Yoda was supposed to have a yellow one in the movies, and that ATOC was supposed to show all the colors rather than just red/blue/green.
