it needs to be the full URL, not the truncated one that sometimes comes up (or the extra filler that shows up when you get hotlinked)

Code: Select all

First impression: two thumbs up. If We Were Vampires is going to demolish me when my wife and I see him next month.

It's not the long, flowing dress that you're in
Or the light coming off of your skin
The fragile heart you protected for so long
Or the mercy in your sense of right and wrong
It's not your hands searching slow in the dark
Or your nails with your lover's watermark
It's not the way you talk me off the roof
Your questions like directions to the truth

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone
Or one day you'll be gone

If we were vampires and death was a joke
We'd go out on the sidewalk and smoke
Laugh at all the lovers and their plans
I wouldn't feel the need to hold your hand
Maybe time running out is a gift
I'll work hard 'til the end of my shift
And give you every second I can find
And hope it isn't me who's left behind

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone
Or one day you'll be gone

It's knowing that this can't go on forever
Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone
Maybe we'll get forty years together
But one day I'll be gone
Or one day you'll be gone

Great album. And yah that song slays me.

This guy is >>>>>>> Ryan Adams the last 5 years. I don't even listen to Ryan anymore. Ironic cause I first saw/heard of Jason when he opened for him about 5 years ago.

Was pleasantly surprised when I got home today and the new LP was waiting for me. Haven't had a chance to spin it yet but nice to get it early. Did not include the bonus song book that is going to be at some record stores though.

Then you're missing out on a pretty Awesome album in Prisoner.

But anyway, as a huge fan of his going back to his DBT years, it's great to really see him hitting his stride and making such killer, heartfelt music.

I think im kind of in love with him. His instagram is fantastic, his guitar playing is brilliant, and his interviews are wonderful.

Music is obviously great.

He's actually kind of picking up where Ryan Adams left off maybe. (musically speaking)

Yah I wrote that a couple pages ago. Except he's not depressed and in a loving relationship with a new kid. But musically yah.

That Vampires song is a stone-cold killer.
