As someone who has trained and schooled to be an actor and a writer, faithfulness to source material has always been super overrated to me. Unless we're taking straight adaptation. Like a play made into a film or visa versa. Comics are different because of the format and the changes that long running titles endure organically. Serials are different as well. As are novels (different medium). And comics are much closer to novels even with their visual components.
But that doesn't mean I don't totally understand and respect the other side. It's just not something that factors high on my list of priorities. If the thing is done well, it's a non-factor. It's only if the thing sucks that I look to the source for contrast purposes.

I don’t expect pure unaltered storylines out of this stuff. I do expect that if I watch a show titled Moon Knight, that the main character be faithful to the established character. Does that mean I want every detail exactly the same down to how many hairs he has growing on his left big toe? Of course not. I do expect the broader details to be adhered to, tho. Origin story should follow the same path. Supporting cast, same. Personality should stay close. (And this is going to be a thing with Moon Knight as he has multiple personalities). I’m not really a fan of colorblind casting but I will admit I have liked it in some cases. Morgan Freeman in Shawshank being the most obvious example of me liking it.
I’ve never wanted an absolute adherence to the source material. After all, Kryptonite and Perry White came from the Superman radio show. I just want a reasonable fidelity so the characters a recognizable enough I can equate them to the characters I’ve long read.
(This doesn’t only apply to comic books, btw)

I'm a little worried about the adaptation of a bloody, violent comic for Disney+.

I'm not concerned that they will put blood and violence on Disney+.
I'm concerned that in their attempt to soften it, they'll fuck up the adaptation.
