I don't know what you are talking about.
Is this like a "The Woods has bad production" thing?

Re: Sturgill Simpson
This album feels like an album I've been missing; something I've been waiting for for a long time. It's satisfying on every level, to me. The production is a part of that. This thing is such a fantastic concept record. The production enhances that. It's all a part of the piece as a whole and adds so much to the listening experience. I can't imagine trying to divorce the production from the songs.

Yeah I really don't know what the hell these guys are on about as far as the production goes. It sounds the way it sounds because that's the way they wanted it to sound.durdencommatyler wrote:This album feels like an album I've been missing; something I've been waiting for for a long time. If he's someone whose tastes you often agree with then....tragabigzanda wrote:Hahaha holy shit, Chris Richards agrees with me. He's the music critic for the WaPo; he also used to lead one of my hands-down favorite bands of all time Q and Not U.
I feel vindicated. Which is not to say "I'm right and others are wrong." It's entirely a matter of taste. But I'm glad that someone whose tastes I often agree with also agrees with me here.
WaPo: In your ear buds, Sturgill Simpson’s new album is a drag. In person, it’s a triumph.

I’m curious to see durd’s year end album list, because it seems like he has about eight #1s so far.

Re: Sturgill Simpson
I would say that not sounding like 99% of rock records or mixed for earbuds is kinda the point of the album and its message.
