I spent a good part of my holiday weekend with yard care projects.

As I was staking the plum tree in my front yard, got a chuckle out of a story from my neighbor: When he was 3 he ate a plum and his dad said if he buried the pit, a tree would grow. So they bury it, and his dad planted a plum tree that night so in the morning there was a tree when he woke up.

yes, it's November but i am a mad man (and they are winter hardy)

they can bloom in a variety of white and red variants, on the same plant

this guy blooming already. all sorts of different flowers on the same plant:

- striped white and pink with thick stripes
- some with thin white and red stripes
- some all-light pink
- some all-dark red

all on the same plant

i baited and relocated about 15 squirrels since late last summer. made a noticeable difference. those filthy bastards.

saw two big bunnies running around today preparing to do it

chased them out of their doing chamber

if their numbers increase may need to change the trap from squirrels to bunnies

but they are fluffy

squirrels are satan’s rodent

i would have bought more tulips in the fall but they are pricey and the damn squirrels and bunnies were attacking them

i will have more faith this year to plant now that my west virginia hillbilly trapping initiative has been successful

caught a squirrel today

he was the best-behaved squirrel i have seen. didn't freak out or anything. looked young

i didn't have time to drive him to the relocation spot. plus wondered if the cops would stop me once I got to the park ('I am relocating a squirrel, officer, this counts as an 'essential' task)

so i just let him go free

maybe he will learn not to come back

or maybe he will come back because he can eat free peanut butter

only time will tell

just read 96's posts in this thread for the first time

pretty unreal

and I had never heard of squirrel trapping before

I mean I used to trap them when I was a kid but I would always let them go

I didn't know people trapped them to relocate them etc.

if they were a problem I think I would just shoot them

they are fast, and if you miss there are many things that could go wrong

and if you don't miss, they will haunt your dreams

I am glad this thread has been re-booted I mean be-rooted.

I have a big pot and I don't know what to plant in it. Maybe one of you green-ass thumbs can help me.

I guess I'll post a picture of it tomorrow or whenevef else my predictive text thinks is food for the week of October and November to go outside for a minute then come back in and wow that's awesome
