I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Say what you will about James Corden, but these videos he does with Tom Cruise are great.

It’s great but is completely contingent upon Tom Cruise dominating almost every frame. Calling it “Maverick” is completely appropriate in the literal sense.

Spoiler: show
Seeing Tom and Val together...man, two 80s and 90s icons talk about life. Tom´s performance is so fucking good. So goddamn good.

I felt this was going to be the crux when I heard about the release. I enjoy Cruise quite a bit but often more so when he shares the screen well with someone.

Nitpick: how do you not bring Rick Rossovich (Slider) back, and maybe some of the other pilots from ‘86, for the funeral?

Cobra Kai already did that.

This movie is perfect.

I liked it. Didn't care for how heavily it leaned on the first one, but it was a tight little movie that didn't waste time with bullshit. Cruise is an action movie artist.

funny how they never name the enemy they are fighting. At least it wasn't North Korea again.

The movie felt timid, in a way. Nervous to be too much of, or too direct about, anything. It was better made than a lot of stuff that makes a billion dollars, though.

Huh? There is nothing about this movie I would describe as timid. It's not interested in who the enemy is because it's fully beside the point

They even let Tom Cruise be a short little guy on this one. No apple boxes baby!

I'm gonna watch it again tomorrow lol
